Your guests pay in different ways
An Australian guest wants to tap a Visa card. A guest from Jakarta opens GoPay or scans a QRIS code. A family from Surabaya transfers to a virtual account from their mobile banking app. If your property only accepts one of these, the others walk away or hand you cash you now have to reconcile by hand.
QRIS in one minute
QRIS is Indonesia's national QR standard. One QR code accepts payment from almost every Indonesian bank and e-wallet app. The guest scans, confirms, done. For domestic guests it is now the payment method most people reach for first. If you show one payment option to local guests, make it QRIS.
Virtual accounts
A virtual account is a temporary bank account number created for one payment. The guest transfers from any mobile banking app, and the payment confirms itself automatically. No screenshots of transfer receipts, no checking your bank statement at midnight. For larger amounts like villa bookings, this is what Indonesian guests expect.
Cards for international guests
Card payments cost more in fees, but for international guests they are non-negotiable. A guest planning a trip from Singapore or Sydney wants to pay now, in one step, with the card they always use. If your booking page cannot take a card, that booking usually goes to an OTA instead, where you pay far more than a card fee in commission.
The real problem is juggling all three
Separate QRIS apps, bank accounts and a card machine mean three places money arrives and none of them talk to your booking calendar. The win is having every payment, local or international, land against the right booking automatically.
